Free invoice generator for the Netherlands (BTW)

Fill in your details, watch the invoice appear and save it as a PDF. The generator follows the Dutch invoice requirements: BTW (VAT) at 21% and 9%, reverse charge (btw verlegd), the KOR small business scheme, EU supplies and export. No account needed - your details stay in your own browser.

A PDF invoice in three steps

  1. Enter your business details. Name, address, KVK number and VAT ID (btw-id). The generator remembers them in your browser.
  2. Add your customer, the lines and the VAT type. With VAT, reverse charge, KOR, EU supply or export - the correct statement appears on the invoice automatically.
  3. Click "Download as PDF". In the print window choose "Save as PDF". Ready to e-mail.

Built for Dutch invoice requirements

As you type, the checklist under the preview tells you whether the invoice has everything the Dutch tax authority (Belastingdienst) requires: your name and address, your customer's, your KVK number and VAT ID, a unique invoice number, the invoice date and delivery date, a description with quantity, the amount excluding VAT and the VAT per rate. If you charge both 21% and 9%, the generator lists both rates separately.

With reverse charge (btw verlegd) the invoice shows no VAT amount, but the statement and your customer's VAT ID. Under the KOR no VAT appears at all. For a field-by-field explanation see our invoice examples or the guide invoicing as a freelancer in the Netherlands.

Invoice in English, Dutch, Polish, Ukrainian or French

Choose the invoice language independently of this page. All headings and VAT statements are translated, including "btw verlegd" and the KOR exemption. Dutch law does not prescribe a language for invoices, but the Belastingdienst may ask for a translation - many freelancers send English invoices to international clients and Dutch ones to Dutch companies.

Your data stays on your device

The invoice is created in your browser. Nothing reaches our server: no names, no amounts, no IBAN. Your details are kept only in this browser's storage so the next invoice is quicker. "Clear all" removes them.

Generator or invoicing app?

For a one-off invoice this generator is all you need. If you invoice regularly, you have to track the next number yourself (no gaps), keep every invoice for seven years and add up your VAT each quarter. That is what a free invoicing app is for: in ProFaktura the numbering continues automatically, invoices go out by e-mail, a credit note takes one click and every invoice can be downloaded as an e-invoice (UBL). Invoices are free and unlimited, and the whole app works in English. Pro (30 days free, then € 9.99 excl. VAT per month) adds a GPS mileage log, receipt scanning and a quarterly VAT overview.

Frequently asked questions

Is this invoice generator really free?

Yes. Make as many invoices as you like and download them as PDF, without an account or payment card. A small line "Created with ProFaktura.nl" appears at the bottom of the invoice.

Do you store my data?

Not on our server. Everything you enter stays in your own browser so you do not have to retype it for the next invoice. "Clear all" deletes it.

Can I e-mail a PDF invoice in the Netherlands?

Yes. A PDF invoice sent by e-mail counts as an electronic invoice and is allowed when your customer accepts it. Keep your invoices for seven years.

Which invoice number should I use?

Every invoice number must be unique and follow the previous one without gaps, for example 2026-0001, 2026-0002. "Next invoice" increases the number by one.

When do I use reverse charge (btw verlegd)?

For subcontracting in construction and for services to a business in another EU country. The invoice then shows no VAT amount but "VAT reverse charged" and your customer's VAT ID. Choose "Reverse charge" and the generator does this for you.

Can I make a Dutch invoice in English?

Yes. Set "Invoice language" to English (or Dutch, Polish, Ukrainian, French). Dutch law does not prescribe a language, but the Belastingdienst may ask for a translation.
